Newsletter 09/2017

Let us celebrate Europe...

during the European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018, said Jean-Claude Juncker, president of the European Commission, in his State of the Union Address at the European Parliament last week. NEMO welcomes the clear acknowledgement of the power of cultural heritage for Europe.

While the final kick-off for the Year will take place in early December, NEMO is delighted to welcome Martine Reicherts, Director-General of the DG Education and Culture, to its 25th Annual Conference 2017 from 9-12 November 2017, where she will kick off the EYCH 2018 for museums! You can register for NEMO's annual conference here!

In this issue of the NEMO newsletter you will find further information about the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 (EYCH 2018), as well as new publications, upcoming awards and NEMO's recent activities. We held the "Building a Museum" conference together with the Think Tank Creative Museum in Riga, Latvia, where NEMO's Executive Board met as well, had a successful meeting of European museum experts at "Museums Meet Museums" in Bucharest, Romania and cooperated with our partner We Are Museums for our 9th International Training Course!

We are excited for the next NEMO Learning Exchange next month and hope to see you in Ghent in November!

Happy reading,
