Creative People and Places have recognised the need of making art locally accessible and release a helpful toolkit for involving local neighbourhoods in art projects.
The Arts Council England funded initiative has identified key factors being paramount when making art experiences locally accessible. Most importantly the power balance needs to shift from arts practitioners and organisers to also include the voices of the locals. The key factors have been turned into a toolkit that will help organisers to create creative locally-resonant programming by involving the local community.
