We Are Museums 2017 in Riga, Latvia from 12-14 June 2017

In June NEMO's partner We Are Museums welcomes participants to Riga, Latvia for its fifth edition of the conference that invites the makers of the museums of tomorrow and offers a programme both inspiring and practical which tackles culture, innovation and entrepreneurship.
For We Are Museum’s fifth edition in Riga at the Latvian National Museum of Art and the Academy of Arts of Latvia, the themes of empathy, inclusiveness and social impact of museums will be discussed in depth. Particularly, their impact on society, storytelling and content production, as well as marketing, collaboration and networking between museum professionals, audience developers, young audiences, creatives spaces, fablabs in museums, sustainability and many more. We Are Museums will reflect on how much museums can become members of broader environments and be game changers in the current world.
Current confirmed institutions to speak between 12 and 14 June include: the Australian Center of Moving Image (Australia), the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt (Germany), the Warhol Museum (USA) , the Women’s Museum in Arhus (Denmark), the National Museum of Estonia . More will be announced in February 2017.
We Are Museums is co-organised with the Latvian National Museum of Art and supported by the Latvian Association of Museums, the Goethe Institute, the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia.
