NEMO Executive Board in Armenia

Following the invitation by the museum education centre and DVV international NEMO's Executive Board held its meeting and a master class during its visit to Yerevan, Armenia from 12-14 September 2016.

Next to their executive meeting, the board members of NEMO facilitated a master class for the Armenian museum professionals on various topics, including an overview about museum education projects in Greece, the system of the Dutch museum card, the different working group structures of the German Museums Association, good examples of European museums to open up to citizens' participation and management in all areas of museum work, Swiss museums projects that enforce inter-generational dialogue and working with people suffering from dementia, and finally about the night of museums in Romania that became a major social event on national level. In addition, NEMO's Executive Board was invited to discuss with the Armenian board about their strategy future plans for the museum sector.

During their stay, the executive board visited various museums in Yerevan - among them the Sergei Paragjanov Museum, the Cafesjian Centre for the arts, the History Museum of Armenia and the Geghard Monastery and attended the opening of an exhibition at the German embassy in Yerevan.
