April Activities

In the past weeks NEMO participated in two of the Brainstorming sessions of Voices of Culture - a framework for the structured dialogue between the Civil Society and the European Commission - the Dialogue Meetings for an in-depth discussion with the Commission will take place this month. In addition, NEMO's Executive Board Member Margherita Sani presented NEMO’s study on Young people and Museums and NEMO’s working group "The Learning Museum" to the awarded sites at the European Heritage Label Days in Brussels.

On 28 April NEMO's next Training Course will take place in Östersund, Sweden. The Course will focus on the work between politics, research and practice and show various ways to define, shape and develop a profile and brand in the world of museums and heritage in a broader sense.

Lastly, NEMO is delighted to announce its upcoming webinars, open to all interested museum professionals for free. So: spread the word!

H&M - Heritage and Museums: H&M Trilogy 2015-2016: Pupil's drawing contest and exhibition "Painting Europe"

The exhibition "Painting Europe" displays the winners' works from a contest among pupils. The drawing will also be published in an album, which is set to be available in May 2016. The drawing contest was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Religion in Greece and the office of the European Parliament in Greece. The goal was to enhance and emphasise the educational role of art in intercultural and inter-religious dialogue. The 2015 winner of the contest from a public school in Pyraeus was offered a cultural trip to the innovative MuCEM in Marseille, France, which was awarded the Council of Europe Museum Prize in 2015.
