This past month...

...we celebrated NEMO's selection for co-funding by the Creative Europe Programme for 2017-2021! Being among the 28 selected projects, we are excited to take NEMO a step further and will share more with you in the next weeks.

...the G7 cultural ministers met in Florence, Italy. In their joint declaration they condemned the destruction of cultural sites and called upon the international community to intensify their fight against the illegal trafficking of cultural goods.

...we started the month of April with our seventh NEMO Webinar The great revolution of European museums. You can (re-)view Massimo Negri's take on different trends and paradigms in the museum world and download his presentation on our website.

FINNISH MUSEUMS ASSOCIATION: Agreement on the rights to publish art in Finnish museums' collections

On 29 March 2017, the Finnish Museums Association and Kuvasto, a copyright society for artists, signed an agreement that allows museums to display works by Finnish artists in their own collections on the Internet without having to make separate work or artist-specific agreements. The agreement grants museums an unlimited right to publish all the copyrighted works in their collections on the museums’ website, online portals and applications.

FINNISH MUSEUMS ASSOCIATION: The Museum Association of Namibia and The Finnish Museums Association together at ICOM – ICTOP conference in October

The Museum Association of Namibia and the Finnish Museums Association are working together with ICOM – ICTOP at its annual conference (11 - 13 October in Windhoek, Namibia). The conference is one part of the MoU contract between the Namibian and Finnish museums associations. FMA will also organize a workshop for its Namibian partners. Read more.

Via PULSZKY SOCIETY-Hungarian Museum Association: Association of Hungarian Provincial Museums: Questions of Collection Area and Collection Profiles in the Practice of Museums Conference

During the two-day event held from 29-30 March in Kecskemét presentations on collection policy at national and regional level, its theoretical basis, everyday practice, uncertainties, hardships, possibilities and relationship of other museum tasks were given and discussed by about one hundred professionals from all parts of Hungary.

THE NETHERLANDS MUSEUMS ASSOCIATION: launches first national VR museum

During last week's National Museum Week the world's first national VR museum was launched. Watch and enjoy how 400 museums in the Netherlands show their master pieces and tell their stories. The app can be downloaded from the Google play store or Apple's app store.
