Catherine De Zegher

Catherine de Zegher is the director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Ghent (Belgium) and member of the Royal Academy of Sciences and the Arts of Belgium. She was the artistic director of the 5th Moscow Biennale (2013) and the 18th Biennale of Sydney (2012). As guest curator in the Department of Drawings at the MoMA in New York, she worked on the large-scale exhibition On Line. Drawing through the Twentieth Century (2010). Prior to her position as the executive director and chief curator of The Drawing Center in New York (1999-2006), de Zegher was the co-founder and director of the Kanaal Art Foundation in Kortrijk, Belgium (1988-1998).

For her work as a curator of various exhibitions, Catherine de Zegher has received several Best Show awards from AICA and AAMC. She is the author and editor of numerous books, her most recent publication Women’s Work Is Never Done is an anthology of her collected essays on the work of contemporary female artists.
