Christine De Weerdt

Christine De Weerdt (*1960) currently serves as Director of STAM – Ghent City Museum.

She gained extensive experience in cultural management and heritage projects through a career as Coordinator for the Cultural Heritage Unit in Ghent, and as General Coordinator of the Charles V Year of Culture from 1997 to 2000 in Flanders. Previously, she was a member of staff in the Architecture Section of Antwerp 93 – Cultural Capital of Europe and  worked as a Business Manager at Speeltheater Gent. She won the Cultural Management Award 2010 from the University of Antwerp (Prof. Bilsen Fund).

Christine De Weerdt studied art history at the University of Leuven and European Studies at the European Institute Des Hautes Études Internationales at the University of Nice.
