NEMO's mission is to ensure museums are an integral part of European society by promoting their work and value to policy makers. We lobby agencies and stakeholders on both a national and European level.
Whom do we target?
NEMO liaises with the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Council, representatives of countries holding the presidency and those planning it , as well as other organisations and networks having similar interests in culture. In addition, NEMO liaises through its members with national governments.
What does lobbying mean?
With its members and allies, NEMO facilitates a constant dialogue with the above mentioned institutions concerning questions that are relevant to the museums in Europe. We believe that through dialogue we can:
- influence policies and developments,
- encourage the museum sector's needs and framework conditions within policy-making, and
- advocate the museums' work and potential to policy makers on European and national levels.
