NEMO fosters the exchange and training of museum professionals from different fields of work through a number of activities and offers.

Building on the capacity of the national museum organisations in Europe and helping them to professionalise their work for the benefit of the museum sector is one of the priorities of NEMO's work and objective in the next years.
With strong national museum organisations, museums and professionals, the museum sector will be enabled to work in more efficient and effective ways for their audiences, grasp new trends better to make museums' activities become more relevant to society.

In this context, NEMO aims at internationalising, professionalising and strengthening the capacity of the museum sector in Europe through

  • Learning Exchanges - a mobility scheme for peer-to-peer international exchanges of national museum organisations

  • International Training Courses - focused training sessions facilitated by museum organisations' experts on business models, management issues, digitisation and more for museum and museum organisations' professionals

  • NEMO working groups - groups of museum professionals on specific topics to facilitate transnational work on topics at individual level

  • Webinars - online seminars on specific topics facilitated by experts and professionals from the field for museum professionals
