Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski

Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Art History in Belgrade, in 1999 and defended her doctoral thesis in the same Department in 2016. Her research field involves the study of international and national art of the 20th century and focuses on education, management, and marketing in museums. Since 2001, she is employed at the Gallery of Matica srpska in Novi Sad, Serbia, and became its director in 2010. She implemented numerous exhibitions and was the author of several books, catalogues, and journal acrticles. She is also a lecturer at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences, Department of Architecture and Urban Planning.

In 2017, she became the president of the Board of Directors of the Novi Sad - European Capital of Culture 2021 Foundation. She is also a member of numerous international museum organizations such as NEMO, ICTOP, EMA, AICA, and sits on the Executive Board of ICOM Serbia. Since 2018, she has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia for Creative Industries.

At NEMO’s European Museum Conference 2020, Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski will introduce and moderate the session "UNDERSTANDING DIFFERENCES – CHANGING PERSPECTIVES" on 17 November.
