The Sustainable Development Goals

With the goal of ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all by 2030, the United Nations adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in September 2015.

Within the larger agenda of creating a brighter and better future, NEMO decided to focus on Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities and Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions.

NEMO did not only demonstrate how museums are capable of contributing to sustainable development, but also shared good practice examples of museums that already are making a difference.
