Prior to the Council's decision the European Parliament had adopted the text of the proposal on 27 April. Now the council followed with its adoption on 11 May 2017.
Along with the proposal it is made clear that a budget of 8 million Euro will be made available for the year. 3 million Euro from the resources currently provided for the Creative Europe Programme and 5 million Euro will be reprioritised from other existing resources. 1 million Euro will be made available in 2017 for the preparation of the year.
