Apply for the 2018 Children in Museums Award!

The Children in Museums Award recognises excellence and innovation in exhibits designed for children within the museum sector. Museums can apply until 1 March 2018 and the winners will be presented at NEMO's 26th annual conference in Valletta, Malta in November.

Since 2011 the Children in Museums Award, established by the European Museum Academy and Hands On! International, recognises international excellence and innovation in exhibits designed for children within the museum sector. This year, the award ceremony will be part of NEMO's annual conference! This is a sign of the continuing cooperation between NEMO and its partner the European Museum Academy and Hands On! International.

Applications are welcomed from children's museums and from education, children and youth departments in museums and science museums, both long-established and recently opened.

The Jury is looking especially for the creative use of exhibitions and programmes with an innovative interpretative approach, which should be meaningful to the relevant age-group. The Jury will expect proof and examples of your innovative approach and aesthetic qualities, open-ended learning programme, excellence that can be acknowledged by children.
