At a press conference on 26 February 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the initiative BE MUSEUMERS was officially launched. The project aims to empower museum professionals from the South Caucasus region (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) and to establish an International Training Programme.

BE MUSEUMER is a consortium project led by the Georgian Museum Association (GMA) together with the project partners NEMO and the Academy of Cultural Management. 14 trainings and seven webinars on relevant subjects will be organised within the project timeframe of three years. The project will strengthen the participants’ leadership and management skills to respond to 21st-century museum challenges. The trainings will be open exclusively for museum staff from the South Caucasus region, whereas the webinars also will be open to the general public.

The first training will be led by NEMO board member Margherita Sani from 27 February - 1 March 2019. 20 participants will get to know more about European perspective on museum education and the role and function of informal education, principles of lifelong learning, and public engagement.
