Booklet facilitates understanding of digital cultural heritage impact

The project inDICEs – Measuring the Impact of Digital Culture has published the report Policy Analysis of Value Chains for CHIs in the Digital Single Market, which analyses and provides recommendations on how digital cultural heritage creates value and impact.

NEMO is a partner of the Horizon 2020 funded project that aims to understand the effects of the digital revolution on modes of cultural and creative production and on their economic and social impact. Especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, inDICEs wants to contribute to the process of digital transformation of the cultural sector.

When producing the report, the inDICEs working group Change management and policy recommendationsconsulted experts, analysed literature and conducted case studies analysis. They developed a framework based on existing approaches to understand cultural value chains and impact of cultural heritage, combined with insight from specific cases of re-using digital cultural resources. There is a need for a new, system-wide representation of the structural interdependencies between the online cultural sector and other sectors of the online ecosystem.
