The Association of European Jewish Museums (AEJM) organises a study visit to Warsaw from 22 to 23 January 2018. A limited number of places is reserved for those working in marketing & communication at (non-Jewish) European museums.

The NEMO member AEJM organises the study visit to Warsaw as part of its programme Jewish Museums Today. This edition will focus on communication and marketing of exhibitions with sensitive content. The exhibition Blood: Uniting & Dividing at award-winning museum POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews - European Museum of the Year 2016 - will serve as a case study for exploring challenges and possible solutions.

Blood: Uniting & Dividing has been inspired by the exhibition at the Jewish Museum London (2015) dedicated to the meaning of blood in Jewish culture. The Polish edition developed the threads that emerged in London, enriching them with new ideas and objects. It explores the question of blood in its religious, historical and social context. Referring to both tradition and modernity, the exhibition aims at presenting facts and challenging stereotypes, especially those related to Christian-Jewish relations. The exhibition narrative is interspersed with contemporary art works, by Anish Kapoor, Moshe Gershuni and several Polish artists.

The study visit will start on Monday, 22 January 2018, 13:00h and end on Tuesday 23 January 2018, 15:00h. The prelimenary programme is available here.

The AEJM has reserved a limited number of places for those working in marketing & communication at (non-Jewish) European museums and invites your institution to join in Warsaw. The regular seminar fee is 125 Euro p.p. NEMO Members can participate at a reduced rate of 100 Euro.
