Two calls for proposals connected to the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH) are open until 21 September 2023. The two projects, funded under the Horizon Europe programme, will contribute to setting up the foundations of ECCCH.

The call ‘A European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage’ aims at defining, designing and establishing a European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage. The platform should be easy to use while catering to cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration. ECCCH is imagined as an open digital ecosystem that provides the tools and services needed to enable and scale-up future research and innovation in the field.

The governance body of the ECCCH will be made up by cultural heritage professionals with various disciplinary backgrounds to ensure that the needs of the future users are considered and met.

The call ‘A European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage – Innovative tools for digitising cultural heritage objects’ aims at designing and implementing innovative tools and methods for digitisation of visible characteristics and non-visible characteristics of cultural heritage objects. The tools will be used to add objects to the upcoming ECCCH.

European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage

The European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage is an initiative by the European Commission to help safeguard European cultural treasures and ensure that our rich cultural heritage continues to thrive in the digital age. The ECCCH will foster cooperation and co-creation among cultural, creative and technology sectors. Moreover, it will bring tangible benefits in the day-to-day work of all cultural heritage professionals and museums, including the smaller, rural and remote ones.
