Croatia takes over the EU presidency from 1 January - 30 June 2020

The presidency will be the first one for Croatia since the country joined the European Union in 2013.

The priorities of Croatia's presidency will be driven by its motto: "A strong Europe in a world of challenges". 

The presidency programme focuses on four main areas: 

  • a Europe that is developing
  • a Europe that connects
  • a Europe that protects
  • an influential Europe

Starting on 1 February, the Croatian city Rijeka is a 2020 European Capital of Culture and NEMO looks forward to visit the city from 15-17 November for its European Museum Conference.
