First International Training Opportunity of the BE MUSEUMER Project

20 young museum professionals participated in the first training of the BE MUSEUMER International Training Programme from 27 February – 1 March 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

After a press conference and project presentation on 26 February 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the first of 14 trainings of the new international training programme BE MUSEUMER took place. The Creative Europe funded programme aim to increase the professionalism of museum workers in the South Caucasus region (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan).

Margherita Sani, project manager at the Istituto Beni Culturali of the Region Emilia-Romagna and NEMO board member, hosted the first training, which was devoted to issues related to museum education. At the training, participants got to learn about the value of museum education, role and functions of informal education, principles of lifelong learning and public engagement, European experience and perspectives in museum education. They also got to practice writing and creating an educational project.
