MOI! invites Nordic museums to expert meeting on evaluation and impact

Against a pink background the writing announces an event "Evaluations of Impact", hosted by MOI.

Museum professionals active in the Nordic countries are invited to an open stakeholder forum on 10 May 2021 from 10:30 – 16:45 CEST. The meeting will focus on developmental self-evaluation and how it can be used to strengthen the impact of museums in society.

The Forum is organised by the Finnish Heritage Agency and the Finnish Museums Association within the framework of the project MOI! Museums of Impact. It’s the third event in a series of six open stakeholder forums. All kinds of museum and heritage professionals active in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland are welcome to participate in an open exchange on crucial interfaces between museums and their impact in society. The MOI! project relies on input from professionals to build a strong, current, and agile development tool that best serves the museums in their capacity building and impact-oriented management.

The programme includes a short introduction to the MOI! Museums of Impact project and a presentation of the concept of developmental evaluation as a tool.

A round table discussion will gather experts to discuss the power of museums as changemakers in the society and the potential for impact that museums as institutions have today, moderated by Susanna Pettersson, Director General  at Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, Sweden.

In the afternoon, participants are invited to give their own input for developing the self-evaluation framework in workshops facilitated by the project partners. The discussions will focus on different areas of impact for museums.

The event will be held in English.

MOI! Museums of Impact is a European cooperation project that aims to develop a self-evaluation framework for museums, with a people-and impact-oriented perspective. The framework helps museums to critically evaluate their operations, and to develop their capacity to meet the demands of a changing society. The project aims to help museums to increase their impact, by supporting them in evaluating and refocusing their work actively and according to their own strengths and strategies.  NEMO is a partner of the Creative Europe funded project.
