Museum audience research project Sentomus is open for registration

The European large-scale audience research project ‘Sentomus’ offers museums across Europe the chance to survey their audience in an accessible and pragmatic way, and to benchmark their results anonymously with comparable museums. Museums can register their interest to participate in the study until 30 June 2023.

Sentomus offers the opportunity for museums in Europe to survey their audience about their museum visit. Through a balanced and personalised questionnaire, museums can survey and engage their audience in an easy and accessible way. They will learn how their audience experiences different aspects of the museum, how they evaluate the offer, what impact the museum has on the wellbeing of the visitor. The research is not only designed to target current visitors: previous visitors and non-visitors can also be surveyed.

After the research period, participating museums will receive an extensive personal research report with the museums’ results, in which they may benchmark their museum (anonymously) with comparable museums across Europe. Also, during the study, museums can always access their intermediate results in their live dashboard. The personal museum results and data are the property of the museum and will only be shared with them. The anonymized data of all museums together, will create interesting insights and will be of great value to the museum sector in general.

The research period runs from 1 June 2023 until after the winter holidays. During this period, museums can survey their audience when convenient.
