The Association of Danish Museums recently announced an initiative running from 2022 to 2025 that will help Danish museums in their transition towards greener operations. With 5.8 million Danish Krone (780 000 euro), funded by the Augustinus Fonden, the Association has launched the ambitious “Green Museum Academy”.

The Green Museum Academy recognises that museums have a negative impact on the environment and aims to make museums part of the solution and not only a problem by implementing a national coordinated approach to climate change. The Academy will focus on buildings, conservation and exhibitions. In the course of the project, research will be conducted to collect necessary expertise and develop helpful tools.
