New NEMO publication: Museums 2030 – Sharing recipes for a better future

This graphic announces Nemo's European Conference 2019. The title reads: "Museums 2030 - Sharing recipes for a better future". The writing is red and black against a white background with blue splashes of colour.

Make the most out of the home office and revisit NEMO’s European Museum Conference 2019 in a publication that gathers texts from all speakers, slammers and workshop leaders. NEMO wants to inspire museums to lead the way and become key players in creating a sustainable and equitable future and planet. It is time for museums to step it up and dare to take action.

The conference, which took place from 7-10 November 2019, illustrated how museums can incorporate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in their work. The conference showed that museums are excellent key players and that they should be recognized and supported by EU policy makers for their work contributing to a sustainable future. Museums also make great partners for making the SDGs accessible since they already are familiar with translating processes of change and communicating concepts from global to local level in an understandable way.

In 2020, we will meet in Rijeka, Croatia, from 15-17 November for NEMO’s European Museum Conference. Enter your email address to receive a reminder once the registration opens in June.
