As 2025 comes to an end, we’re looking back at the achievements of the past 12 months while getting ready for what’s next. We’re excited to keep working with you to support the European museum community - with an extra spotlight on digital developments, including AI and cybersecurity, in 2026. For now, we are wishing you a relaxing and joyful holiday season, and happy new year! We also invite you to look back at some NEMO highlights from 2025: - We published a NEMO Barometer on political influence on museums in Europe, confirming that political influence is affecting the sector, and we launched a resource hub to help safeguard museum independence under political pressure.
- We have established two new strategic partnerships with the Balkan Museum Network and OBMIN, to strengthen our Southern and Eastern reach and presence.
- We welcomed Nela Riehl, Member of the European Parliament and CULT Committee Chair, for a behind-the-scenes day at the BELvue Museum in a NEMO Political Internship.
- The NEMO European Museum Conference on wellbeing and resilience really struck a chord with record participation. Have you checked out the recordings and our statement yet?
- We launched two new Working Groups for our members: Resilience and Care and Think Tank on Museum Futures.
- We supported the growth of partner projects ECHOES and Towched, ensuring visibility and benefits for the museum community.
- 1,140+ participants have been engaged in our trainings, webinars, and events.
- We represented museums’ voice at numerous events, conferences, and meetings across Europe. Catch up on everything in our news section!
