Before the summer holiday,

we are sure that you want to catch up on NEMO’s activities the last month. We are also happy to announce that the registration to NEMO’s 26th Annual Conference has opened!

From 15-18 November 2018, NEMO will gather European museum and culture professionals in Valletta, Malta, to network, exchange expertise and explore the crossover impact that museums have on other sectors. Register via this google form.

Have you applied for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 label yet? All projects awarded with the EYCH label by NEMO before September 2018 have the chance to be selected to present their activity at NEMO's 26th Annual Conference. Accommodation and travels will be covered by NEMO. Further information about the EYCH 2018 label can be found here.

On 19 June 2018, 872 people joined NEMO and its partners at the Museum for Communication Berlin to celebrate museums and cultural heritage at the event A Museum Night Out – Dance at the Museum! See photos from the beautiful evening here.

Earlier on the same day, the conference Cultural Heritage Communities and Audiences in Today’s Digital Environment gathered 60 professionals in the Museum for Communication. Both events were organised within the framework of the European Cultural Heritage Summit – Sharing Heritage/ Sharing Values; the most visible event organised in Europe within the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018. EXARC: Europe funds Bronze Age Potters in EU project, ongoing international project

CRAFTER brings together four museums, two cultural associations and two higher education centres from five countries (Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary and Serbia). It will revive Europe’s Bronze Age pottery with films, exhibitions and a network of potters.

ICOM Russia - The discussion “Museum communication or what the museum keeps silence about” –13 July 2018, Moscow, The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts

This event continued the series of discussions in the context of the main theme of International Museum Day 2018 - "Hyperconnected museums: New approaches, new publics". During the discussion, speakers and participants reflected on methods of communication between the museum and its visitors on the “language of things” or “language of meanings”, which museums safeguard and promote.
