"Sharing is Caring: Right to Remix?" and "The Creative Museum" Conferences streamed online

At the beginning of October NEMO will stream two conferences live!
"Sharing is Caring: Right to Remix?", organised by the Danish Museums Association, will take place on 2 October 2015 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Against the backdrop of the digital age the conference focuses on the current logic of copyright. It deals with the remix of culture, rights, and looks at new approaches to these topics for the cultural sector. The conference is aimed at professionals in libraries, archives and museums, Wikipedians, start-ups, and users interested in cultural heritage and digital culture.

On 8 October 2015 the conference "The Creative Museum" will be held in Bologna, Italy. The Istituto per i beni artistici culturali e naturali organised the conference within the framework of the EU funded project "The Creative Museum". The project explores the potential of digital technologies applied to museums and seeks to connect the Maker Community and digital industries with museums and museum practitioners to explore new ways of interpreting collections.

The Association of Swedish Museums: New Chairman in Sweden, Swedish Spring Conference and "Document for the Future"

From April 2015 the new Chairman of the Association of Swedish Museums is Maria Jansén, Director General of the Swedish History Museums.
The next Swedish Museum Conference will take place in Linköping and Norrköping in April 2016.
The Association of Swedish Museum has launched a "document for the future". In 2014 the role of museums in the development of a future society was examined in open seminars. In four cities museum professionals and other inspirers talked about a society based on equality and the right to have access to culture and understanding. The outcomes were summarised in a "document for the future" pointing out sixteen development areas for Swedish museums, all related to their responsibility for a sustainable future, e.g. "developing the health and culture perspective" or "research and knowledge cooperation with universities". The document (in Swedish) can be used by museums, for inspiration or to introduce other parties to the museum world.
