Ineta Zelča Sīmansone

Ineta is a museologist and a museum practitioner with the background in art history, education and museum studies. She started her career as a museum educationist and communications officer at the Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMA) in 2002. In the capacity as Head of Communications Department,  Ineta introduced a number of groundbreaking innovations to the Latvian museum scene e.g. volunteers and lifelong learning programs, Lesson in a Museum for school groups, Late Friday’s for young adults etc.

In 2012 Ineta founded the Creative Museum – think tank and consulting agency which is offering critical and forward-looking reflection of the museum sector with a special focus on museums and creative economies. She is active in international museum NGO's and charities such as European Museum Forum, International Council of Museums, and the Network of European Museum Organizations where she is leading the Working Group Museums and Creative Industries since 2014.

At NEMO’s European Museum Conference 2019, Ineta Zelča Sīmansone will facilitate a workshop and meeting for the NEMO Working Group Museums and Creative Industries on Friday 8 November.
