Sabine Verheyen

Sabine Verheyen has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2009. At the beginning of the current legislative period (2019), she has been Chair of the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT).

Sabine Verheyen was born on 24 October 1964 in Aachen, Germany. From 1983 to 1988, Verheyen studied architecture at the FH Aachen and since 1990 she has been a member of the CDU. From 1994 to 2009, she was a member of the Aachen City Council and from 1999 to 2009 she was mayor of her hometown Aachen.
