Velid Đekić is head of public relations in City museum of Rijeka. He combines PR work with research of local history. As a pioneer of storytelling techniques in local tourism publications in the nineties, he makes the link between books written about city's history and expectations of modern tourism marketing.

He is member of HDP (Croatian Association of Writers), member of LP Rock association. Also he is president of the Pro Torpedo Association for protecting and promoting Rijeka's industrial heritage. He is writing books dedicated Rijeka's industrial, music and urban history, tourist guides, books for children etc. 

At NEMO’s European Museum Conference 2020, Velid Đekić will participate in the special panel “Spotlight on Rijeka museums!” on 17 November.
