Artefacts are constantly threatened by looting, smuggling, and illicit trade. The AURORA project demonstrates how chemical marking, miniaturized device, art deep-scan technique, cloud and blockchain based platforms can be combined to create a cost-effective, non-destructive, and non-invasive countermeasure against illegal activities. BMN as a partner in AURORA presented the project to stakeholders in BiH in November 2023. The discussion resulted with recommendations on fighting smuggling of cultural goods in BiH.
