NEMO European Museum Conference

The NEMO European Museum Conference 2026 "Human after all - Museums in the wake of AI" brings together museum and cultural professionals from across Europe to explore how AI, cybersecurity, and societal change are reshaping the sector. Save the date and join us from 11-13 October 2026 in Vilnius, Lithuania. Registration opens in June.

How can museums remain centred on people and purpose while becoming future‑ready in a period of accelerating technological and organisational transformation? As AI reshapes workflows, decision‑making, and institutional cultures - while at the same time cyberattacks increasingly target cultural organisations - museums face urgent questions of leadership, preparedness, and long‑term stability. These challenges go beyond technology and concern how institutions evolve, manage risk, and maintain trust.

"Human after all - Museums in the wake of AI" will also address the civic responsibility of museums: fostering public trust, supporting digital and AI literacy, and engaging communities in open, informed dialogue about technological change and the future of democratic societies. It invites museums to help visitors navigate complexity, strengthen critical thinking, and staying resilient and informed - ensuring that people remain at the centre of how culture responds to change.

Registration opens in June 2026. Sign up for a reminder.
