Travel grant scheme

NEMO provides its members with financial support for travel, accommodation and subsistence as a lump sum for various NEMO programmes.

Grants are available for the following activities:

How to receive a grant and reimbursement

To receive a grant, members have to apply for the respective call for applications. Successful applicants will be selected by the NEMO office in consultation with the Executive Board.

Grants are transferred to the account of the grant holder as a lump sum after the activity, provided that the selected participant has appeared in person, signed the participation list and submitted a reimbursement sheet and feedback to the NEMO office. Individual invoices are not required.

Grant percentages

Consult each call for applications for the maximum grant amount since it varies depending on the activity. The final grant is based on the member’s country of residence, if they leave the country of residence and the travel distance.

Sustainable travel

As a network we connect our members throughout Europe. Although travel has a negative impact on the environment, some travel is vital for our network to thrive. However, when possible, NEMO strongly recommends choosing environmentally friendly travel options, such as train, and booking eco-labelled accommodation. We hope that you will join us in making conscious decisions that are beneficial for both us and the planet.

We are committed to actively trying to reduce our carbon emissions. Therefore, NEMO is part of the eco certification programme SHIFT, which helps cultural networks, such as NEMO, to improve, measure, monitor and evaluate efforts towards sustainability. As part of the programme, we are also obliged to track all travels supported by NEMO. Therefore, the reimbursement form asks for information about the mode of transportation to and from the event as well as distance in kilometres.
