The event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen networks, and explore emerging trends shaping the future of museums. For instance, NEMO representatives enjoyed an insightful conversation with Krista Pikkat, Director of Culture and Emergencies at UNESCO. The discussion focused on heritage at risk, security measures, and the ethical considerations surrounding the use of artificial intelligence in museums.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Majed Al Mansoori, Executive Director at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. This exchange offered valuable insights into futures thinking for museums - a particularly timely topic as NEMO launches a new working group dedicated to exploring future-oriented strategies for the sector.
By participating in the ICOM General Conference, NEMO strengthened its role in the global museum community, ensuring that European museums remain connected to international conversations and innovations.
