  • Where can I find an overview of the programme?

  • Who is the conference for?

    NEMO's European Museum Conference targets:

    • Museum management, museum educators, curators, museum workers, researchers and everybody else active in the museum sector.
    • Representatives from museum umbrella organisations and museum networks.
    • Culture policy makers on national and European level, culture professionals, activists, students, and service providers for museums.
    • Everyone interested in how AI and cybersecurity connect to museums, culture, and civic responsibility.
  • How do I register to the conference?

    Registration to the conference is completed by filling in the registration form (via booking platform Pretix) and purchasing a ticket.

  • How much does the ticket cost?
    • Standard price: 220
    • NEMO members: 110 euro
    • Student price: 120 euro
    • Museum colleagues based in Lithuania: 80 euro 

    For member tickets, please note that you will need your NEMO membership number to complete registration. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with office@ne-mo.org if you need assistance.

    New: Please note that as of 2026, NEMO members are asked to pay a reduced conference fee of €110 (50% discount), introduced to support the continued quality of the event. Learn more here.

    The member price does not apply to members of NEMO member organisations.

    For student tickets, please present valid student ID.

    Tickets for Museum colleagues based in Lithuania does not apply to private companies. Individuals working at a private company based in Lithuania, are asked to please purchase the standard ticket.

  • How can I benefit from the member discount?

    In addition to early registration (11 June rather than 22 June), representatives of NEMO member organisations benefit from a significantly reduced rate: 

    • NEMO member ticket: €110 (50% reduced fee)
    • Regular ticket: €220 

    To join NEMO and benefit from the discount please fill in the membership application to request a membership (annual fee starting at 300 Euro). Explore all offers unlocked with a membership in NEMO.

  • How can I pay for the ticket?

    For the conference tickets, NEMO accepts IBAN transfer, PayPal or card payments. 

    Payments onsite or by cash are not accepted.

  • Is there a discount for museum professionals in Lithuania?

    Yes, to increase participation from local museum professionals at the conference, NEMO offers a reduced price of 80 euro for museum professionals based in Lithuania.

    Please note that this discount does not apply to private companies. Individuals working at a private company based in Lithuania, are asked to please purchase the standard ticket.

  • Can I join the conference as a student?

    Yes you may join the conference as a student and to encourage the participation of the next generation of museum professionals, students receive a discount: 120 euro (full price: 220 euro).

    Please note that students must present valid student ID in the booking process.

  • Can I attend as press?

    NEMO may offer complimentary accreditation for members of the press. Please contact office@ne-mo.org for more information.

  • Until when can I get a ticket to the conference?

    Conference registration closes on 20 September 2026.

    In the case the conference gets fully booked, registration will close earlier.

  • Can I also join online?

    No, there will not be a live stream of the conference. However, selected sessions will be recorded and published after the event. 

  • I would like to change my booking. What can I do?

    When you have submitted your booking, you’ll get a n automated confirmation email with a link to the booking. With that link, you can change your details (name, company, booked workshops etc.) until the conference starts. 

    When workshops are fully booked, they don’t appear in the list, and you are not able to book them.

  • The workshop I wanted to join is already fully booked. What can I do?

    Only workshops that are available to book appear in the list in the registration form. Please book one of the these.

    There is no possibility to change the workshops onsite. When the registration closes, the workshops lists are final.

  • I need to cancel my booking. What is the cancellation policy?

    Bookings that have not been paid can be cancelled at any given time. A refund of tickets that have been paid is only possible until 20 September 2026.

    Please note that we can only refund the amount that reached our account. If payment providers (e.g. Stripe) deduct transaction fees, the refunded amount will reflect the net sum we received.

  • My invoice needs to be corrected. What should I do?

    You can update all information that is needed for the invoice via the link sent to you per email after registering.

    If needed, it is possible the re-send the invoice to your registered email address.

  • Can you include my VAT ID on the invoice?

    You can add your VAT number by choosing "Business or institutional customer" when booking your ticket. Add your VAT number in the field for internal reference.

    If you already purchased the ticket but need to include your VAT ID on the invoice, please write to office@ne-mo.org, referencing your booking number and state the VAT number. We will re-issue your invoice and include the VAT ID.

  • Can I get an invitation letter/confirmation letter?

    Yes, it is possible to get a personalised invitation letter. Please contact office@ne-mo.org.

  • Code of conduct

    NEMO events and conferences refer to a code of conduct that outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our events, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behaviour. We are committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status or religion.

Travel and accommodation

  • How do I travel to Vilnius?

    We recommend arranging your travel to Vilnius as early as possible. Where feasible, please consider environmentally friendly options such as travelling by train, or offsetting the carbon emissions from your journey.

    Sustainable travel

    As a network we connect our members throughout Europe. Although travel has a negative impact on the environment, some travel is vital for our network to thrive. However, when possible, NEMO strongly recommends choosing environmentally friendly travel options, such as train, and booking eco-labelled accommodation. We hope that you will join us in making conscious decisions that are beneficial for both us and the planet.

    We are committed to actively trying to reduce our carbon emissions. Therefore, NEMO is part of the eco certification programme SHIFT, which helps cultural networks, such as NEMO, to improve, measure, monitor and evaluate efforts towards sustainability.

     

  • How do I get from the airport to the city centre?

    Vilnius International Airport is located approximately 6 km from the city centre and can be reached in 15–20 minutes by public transport, train, taxi, or ride-hailing services.

    By public transport

    Bus routes connecting the airport and the city centre include:

    • 88
    • 1
    • 2
    • 3G

    From the central railway and bus station, connections to the city centre include:

    • Buses: 1G, 53
    • Trolleybuses: 1, 2, 7, 20

    Public transport tickets:

    • 30 minutes – €1.00
    • 60 minutes – €1.25
    • 24 hours – €7.50
    • 72 hours – €13.50

    Our hosts recommends using the Trafi app to plan your journeys. Contactless payment ("Tap & Go") with a bank card is also available on public transport.

    By train

    A dedicated train connects Vilnius Airport with the central railway station, located next to the Old Town.

    • Journey time: approximately 8 minutes
    • One-way ticket: €0.80

    Tickets can be purchased online, at ticket machines, on board the train, or at railway station ticket offices.

    A covered pedestrian walkway connects the airport terminal with the train platform.

    By taxi or car-sharing

    Taxi services are available 24/7 at the airport.

    Popular ride-hailing and mobility services include:

  • Where in Vilnius should I stay?

    We generally recommend staying close to the main conference venue the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Address: Katedros a. 4, 01143 Vilnius.

    Registered conference participants receive booking codes and reservation instructions for hotels offering special conference rates. If you did not receive them, please get in touch via office@ne-mo.org stating your order code.

    As October is a busy period in Vilnius, our conference host recommend booking accommodation as early as possible. 

    Budget Hotels

    • ibis Vilnius Centre – Modern budget hotel, approximately 15 minutes' walk from the Palace of the Grand Dukes.
    • Mabre Residence – Located on the edge of the Old Town, approximately 10 minutes' walk from the conference venue.
    • Amberton Cathedral Square Hotel Vilnius – Located directly next to Cathedral Square, just a few minutes' walk from the venue.
    • Artis Centrum Hotels – Participants have received information about special offer for this hotel. Approximately 10-minutes’ walk to the main conference venue.
    • Holiday Inn Vilnius – Participants have received information about special offer for this hotel. Approximately 20-minutes’ walk to the main conference venue, or a short ride by public transport/taxi.
    • Congress Hotel Vilnius – Participants have received information about special offer for this hotel. Approximately 12-minutes’ walk to the main conference venue.

    Premium & Boutique Hotels

    • Hotel PACAI – Luxury hotel in the heart of the Old Town, approximately 10 minutes' walk from the conference venue.
    • NARUTIS Hotel – Historic boutique hotel on Pilies Street, approximately 5 minutes' walk from the conference venue.
    • Stikliai Hotel – Elegant five-star hotel in the Old Town, approximately 10 minutes' walk from the conference venue.

    Airbnb is widely available in Vilnius and is a popular option among visitors looking for apartments or longer stays.

  • What is there to do in Vilnius?

    Go Vilnius, one of the conference partners, has provided recommendations for you to make the most out of your trip to Vilnius and the conference. 

At the conference

  • How can I check which workshop and tours I booked?

    If you need a reminder of which workshops and tours you booked, simply click the link in the registration confirmation email from Pretix and you will access an overview of your bookings.

  • Will the conference be recorded/documented?

    Selected sessions will be recorded and published after the event. You can also look forward to written event summaries and photos.

  • I am a business member and want to have a stand at the conference. How to proceed?

    Unfortunately, the venue this year does not allow us to provide a space for business stands.

  • Bring your own lanyard for the badge

    In an effort to reduce unnecessary materials at the conference, we’ve decided not to produce new lanyards for badges. Instead, we invite you to bring your own! Many of us already have lanyards from past events, and we hope this small change will be embraced by all participants.

    Don’t worry if you forget yours - we will ensure that you will be able to wear your badge comfortably.

    Plus, it’s a great conversation starter! At the networking sessions, why not ask your peers where their lanyards come from? You might learn a fun story or two! 

  • What weather should I expect in October?

    October in Vilnius is typically autumnal, with mild daytime temperatures and cooler evenings.

    We recommend bringing layers and a warm jacket, especially for evening activities and walking around the city.

  • What language is spoken in Lithuania?

    The official language of Lithuania is Lithuanian.

    English is widely spoken in hotels, restaurants, museums, and tourist attractions throughout Vilnius.

  • Can I drink tap water?

    Yes. Tap water in Lithuania is safe to drink and is of high quality.
     

  • Can I pay by card?

    Yes. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted throughout Vilnius, including in restaurants, cafés, hotels, museums, shops, and on most public transport services.
