KBR preserves the oldest illustrated manuscript in Dutch: the “Rijmbijbel” of Jacob van Maerlant. This 13th-century codex is an absolute masterpiece thanks to its famous author, but also because of the extremely luxurious nature of the manuscript and the high artistic level of the illumination. From 23 May, it can be admired at the KBR museum.
