The opening of the Šoulavy Pension is the beginning of Organized Tourism in Kaštela. The idea and setting up of the exhibition about Villa Nika in 2020 at MGK was initiated by marking the hundredth tenth anniversary of organized accommodation tourism in Kaštela. Along with the Czech doctor Dr. Henrik Šoulavy, one of the tourist visionaries is certainly Dr. Petar Kamber, the first hotelier in Kaštela. In 1902, on the seashore, near the Šoulavy boarding house, he built a family holiday house - Villa Nika. By 1917, he had fortified the estate and arranged the park on which he would build and in 1928 open the first hotel in Kaštela - Hotel Palace.
Tošo Dabac’s Opatija Album is an exhibition of photographs by Tošo Dabac who was a Croatian photographer of international renown, a representative of soc-realistic photography. The exhibition consists of his impressions of Opatija and the Kvarner region, it reveals the poetics of the place and the spirit of the time, and it shows that our regions have a significant place in Dabac’s striking artistic legacy.
