According to the concept of the exhibition series “In Circulation”, Erika and Helena Varga, the two designer sisters of the brand Romani Design, created six patterned dresses with matching accessories by inspiring themselves with six devotional items belonging to the Museum of Applied Arts’ collection. The exhibition is completed by a short movie about a Romani holy day taking place in Csatka, and a longer film was also made about the process of the creative work. In the framework of the In Circulation series, we invite contemporary designers, once they have become acquainted with our collections, to select an object or ensemble of objects, which inspires their work, and reflecting upon it, to create their own new design. The art object(s) that has been born this way will also become a part of our collection.
