The international conference "Museum and authenticity" explores how to make sense of the interrelationships between museums, heritage culture and authenticity. One of the most common questions asked by museum visitors is: is it authentic, is it real. Museums collect "authentic evidence" and try to provide the most authentic experience possible when dealing with heritage. In Estonia studies have shown that society values the reliability of museums very highly. Thus, the responsibility of museums is great.
