Her work focuses on the role and resilience of libraries and memory institutions in a rapidly changing information environment. As Director of National Library of Latvia, she works at the intersection of cultural heritage protection, institutional resilience and emergency preparedness, including the challenges of safeguarding digital heritage, cybersecurity and critical IT infrastructure. Drawing on experience in national and international cultural heritage and memory policy, she advocates for strong, resilient memory institutions capable of protecting society’s knowledge and cultural record through technological change, crises and conflict.
At NEMO’s European Museum Conference 2026, Dagnija Baltiņa will join the panel “Cybersecurity & resilience - Defending cultural institutions in the digital age” on Monday, 12 October.
