The German Museums Association has released a comprehensive checklist designed to guide museums towards becoming more resilient in times of crisis.

Developed collaboratively during the 2024 annual conference, Navigating museums through Crises, this resource offers actionable insights to help museums safeguard their operations and communities.

The checklist (in German) is structured around three essential fields of action:

  1. Prioritising people – Strategies to support staff, visitors, and community.
  2. Crisis-proof organisations – Steps to ensure institutional stability and adaptability.
  3. Emergency preparedness – Practical measures to respond effectively to unforeseen challenges.

Each section includes a summary of tasks tailored to help museums assess their current readiness and implement changes that fortify their operations against future disruptions.
