The figures, recently published by Statistics Denmark, highlight the growing popularity and cultural significance of museums across the country.
"These are truly impressive numbers, showing that museums resonate with a broad audience and hold great value for many people," said Nils M. Jensen, Director of the Organisation of Danish Museums (ODM).
"In a turbulent time when democracy is under pressure, museums bring people together and offer trustworthy communication of our shared culture, history, and art. Museums are more relevant than ever," he added.
Additionally, another 3 million people visited a museum shop, café, park or garden in 2024. In total, 20.5 million visitors had a museum experience in 2024.
