To encourage young professionals to take part in the conversation, NEMO offers five travel and conference grants. Each grant consists of a €500 lump sum (to cover travel and accommodation) and free conference registration.
Who can apply?
The call is open to museum professionals up to 33 years old who are based in the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) or Poland and who:
- Have an interest in working with topics related to AI and cybersecurity, and
- Believes in European collaboration and international exchange.
Conference theme
NEMO European Museum Conference 2026 Human after all – Museums in the wake of AI will explore how museums can remain people‑centred, resilient and future‑ready in a time of rapid technological change. The programme will examine how AI and cybersecurity are reshaping organisational practice, governance and museum work, while also highlighting the civic role of museums in fostering trust, digital literacy and open democratic dialogue.
Your contribution
Applicants are invited to propose creative and interactive contributions that engage participants during informal moments of the conference. Two types of contributions are possible:
- Interactive activities during breaks and receptions
Hands‑on formats that encourage informal participation in shared spaces, such as mini‑installations, games, experiments, DIY stations or other creative interventions. - Short interactive interventions in plenary or side activities
Brief (3–5 minute) participatory moments during plenary transitions, evening events or side programmes. These may include, but are not limited to, performative elements, thought experiments, collective actions or other creative prompts.
Proposed contributions should connect to the conference theme in a broad and imaginative way.
How to apply
To apply for the travel grant, please submit:
- A short video (maximum 1.5 minutes, in English) introducing yourself, explaining your motivation and outlining your proposed contribution;
- Your CV, including your postal address as proof of residence in the Baltic region;
- A written summary of your proposed contribution (format, timing, needs and objectives).
