The budget breakdown includes €108 million for the Culture strand, €189.7 million for the Media strand, €29.3 million for the Cross-sectoral strand, and €25.2 million for support expenditures including the relevant budget of the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.
The proposal will need a green light to be adopted from both the Council (member states’ governments), which will adopt its position by 1 October, and the European Parliament, which has 42 days to respond after the Council’s decision.
Looking ahead, the financial programming for the final two years of the current Creative Europe iteration (2026-2027) shows an estimated budget of approximately €250 million each year, which is lower than previous periods.
