Exclusive to individuals connected to NEMO member organisations, the programme offers personalised guidance and professional development opportunities for professionals working in museum and heritage learning and education.
Following an open call for applications, mentees have been selected from Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Germany and Ireland. In the last months of the year, they will get to benefit from tailored mentoring designed to support reflection, learning and growth in their professional practice.
Next steps
After the summer, the mentees will be matched with experienced mentors from GEM’s network of senior UK-based museum professionals based on their experience, interests and development goals. Once mentors have confirmed their availability, mentees will be informed of their successful matches by the end of September.
The mentoring sessions will then run between September and December 2026, with each participant receiving individual online mentoring support through a series of confidential one-to-one conversations.
Supporting professional development across Europe
The mentoring programme aims to strengthen professional skills, encourage reflection on practice and foster international exchange among museum and heritage professionals working in education and learning roles.
Through NEMO’s partnership with GEM, participants gain access to a highly regarded mentoring scheme that connects them with experienced practitioners from across the UK museum sector.
