NEMO meets with ICOM and UNESCO to discuss museums’ role in a changing world

On 17–18 March in Paris, France, NEMO Chairperson Petra Havu and Secretary General Julia Pagel met with representatives from the ICOM and UNESCO to discuss the evolving role of museums in Europe.

The meetings focused on how museums can position themselves in a rapidly changing global landscape, addressing broader questions about their place in a shifting world order. Discussions also explored opportunities for international cooperation.

NEMO emphasised that building global alliances will empower European museums to contribute more effectively to informed, resilient, and inclusive societies.
