NEMO Secretary General visited Gaziantep to prepare a NEMO Master Class

From 20-23 September 2024, NEMO Secretary General Julia Pagel visited Gaziantep, Türkiye, to discuss the impact and developments of the devastating earthquake on 6 February 2023 with regional authorities. The visit also provided an occasion to prepare a master class that will be delivered to local museum professional by the NEMO Executive Board.

During the visit, Julia Pagel met with Hüseyin Ateş, Director of the Culture and Tourism Department, and Aynur Atay, Gaziantep metropolitan municipality. She also got to visit several museums and sites, such as the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, the 25 December Gaziantep Defence Heroism Panorama and Museum as well as the fortress of Gaziantep, which was severely damaged by the earthquake.
