The recommendations were developed in a long consultation process with Polish museums and security experts, as well as with Ukrainian colleagues based on their first-hand experience. Although the guidelines refer to Polish law, the Polish National Institute for Museums had them translated to English since they find that the general recommendations still can benefit museums in other countries. The recommendations help museums to plan and prepare, monitor and train, deal with declaration of emergency and/or war as well as how to react in crisis or war.
