On 14 October 2022, NEMO Policy Officer Eilzabeth Wilde was invited to a session planned to better connect representatives of the 30+ cultural networks supported by the Creative Europe programme. In attendance were members of the Directorate General for education, youth, and sport, and Cultural Network representatives.

Following an introduction by members of the DG, including new director, Georg Haeusler, the group was briefed on recent changes and upcoming priorities pertinent to European cultural networks.

After a group discussion concerning the details of Creative Europe programme processes, each of the cultural network representatives were given the floor to introduce themselves and the work of the network. The representative focused on the activities planned for the future, and the thematic scope applied. Sustainability was the focus mentioned most often by the network representatives. In addition, health and well-being, diversity and representation, internationalisation and crisis-management were commonly mentioned by the representatives.
