Lukas Alsys

Lukas Alsys is the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. He has extensive experience in cultural policy, arts management, public administration and cultural programme development. Before becoming Minister of Culture, he served as Chancellor of the Ministry of Culture. Previously, he was Deputy Mayor of Kaunas District Municipality. His professional experience also includes leading the Arts Academy at Kaunas University of Applied Sciences and lecturing at Vytautas Magnus University. From 2019 to 2022, he headed the Kaunas District programme of Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022, contributing to the development and implementation of cultural projects and initiatives.
